Southern Skies has expanded in 2011 to now include Community and Brisbane based sports clinics. The clinics involve sports such as Rugby, Netball, Cricket, AFL, Tennis and Gymnastics and are held at various times throughout the year.
These clinics give the children of Queensland an opportunity to not only develop their skills and love for their chosen sport, but to also be identified by state sporting associations who endorse Southern Skies programs.
The first series of Community Clinics was held on Thursday Island and Lawn Hill (near Mt Isa) in September 2011 and the second clinic was held in Roma in April 2012. Over 200 boys and girls have attended these clinics thus far.
Southern Skies held its inaugural Rugby Clinic at Brisbane Boys’ College on 4-6 July, 2011. The aim of this program was to provide children and teenagers in Brisbane with an opportunity to develop their skills and love for the game. 80 children attended the inaugural Brisbane based clinic.
