Founded in 1998, Southern Skies is a unique educational initiative of Brisbane Boys’ College, one of Brisbane’s most prestigious, oldest, and yet progressive schools. Southern Skies is a self-funding organisation dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of all who attend our events.
Through hosting sporting events and clinics, we provide a distinctive educational and cultural encounter that will remain a highpoint of students’ time at school. The Southern Skies Tournament in July, the Southern Skies Challenge in December, and our sporting clinics feature various team and individual sports and cater for both boys and girls.
The multicultural atmosphere of all of the events and programs is highlighted by our simple but significant motto “uniting the spirit of youth”. Participation in sport is an educational experience with sport providing a wonderfully varied range of learning situations as well as some of those other really important qualities that people need in life…like teamwork, reward for effort and friendship.
