Our official Southern Skies Tournament merchandise supplier, Kukri, have been kind enough to donate $1000 worth of sports apparel for us to give to a participating team. To enter, simply click on the REGISTER NOW button and register your team by Saturday 31st March 2012.

Meet Takapuna Grammar School from Auckland, New Zealand. They are making their fourth appearance at the Southern Skies Tournament in 2012.

School colours: Navy and gold
Number of years at the Tournament: This is our fourth year (2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012)
Teams participating: U18 boys football, U18 girls football, U18 rugby, U16 and U18 netball
Recent sporting success: 1st XI boys football – Auckland A1 winners, 2nd tier National tournament winners, Netball team – Premier North Harbour competition grade, 1st XI girls football – North Habour runners up
What is your group looking forward to most: Developing their skills and having a great time – all 90 of us! This tournament is well organised, fun, competitive and a great learning experience for the students.
Fundraising activities: Seagull luncheon, quiz night, marshalling for events – all been really successful as big money earners in previous years.

My boys really enjoyed the cultural night and were very proud of their 2nd place! I was so impressed with the organisation of the tournament that I would like to bring my girls football team over to participate next year. I am going to speak to the parents and get the ball rolling asap!!

To all involved,thank you for a very worthwhile and enjoyable tournament. Coming across from New Zealand we really do appreciate all the hard work that goes into this event to make it the success that it is. In particular having everything we needed for the week organised such as accommodation, meals and transport makes it such a painless experience for visiting team coaches and managers.

I would like to thank you guys for an awesome event as many South African’s will never have the opportunity that we did. It was the best Rugby that I have experienced in my entire life and I would never forget the moment we scored the winning try against Alexandra Hills as they were the toughest opponents I have ever faced thus far in my Rugby career.
